Notice of a casual vacancy to be filled by co-option

Scarisbrick Parish Council currently has a vacancy for a Parish Councillor. If you are interested in joining a team of 10 councillors looking after the Parish, then please contact the Parish Clerk at scarisbrickpc@outlook.com to request an application form.

Scarisbrick Parish Council is very active and over the next year is keen to progress projects that help to benefit the lives of residents of the Parish. These will include tree planting, flooding, traffic management, and speeding. The Parish Council also comments on planning applications and has particular interest in the protection of the greenbelt that surrounds our community.

Scheduled Road Closures – January/February 2023

 Continuous Road Closure – Pool Hey Lane, Scarisbrick – 13/02/2023 to 17/02/2023

Notification of the temporary continuous road closure on Pool Hey Lane, Scarisbrick can be found by clicking here. The closure will be from Monday 13th February 2023, until Friday 17th February 2023 to enable the rebuilding of a utility chamber to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of United Utilities. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Daily Simultaneous Road Closures – Hall Road, Dam Wood Lane, Heatons Bridge Road, Barrison Green, Scarisbrick and Pippin Street, Burscough – 04/01/2023 to 18/01/2023

Details of proposed temporary simultaneous daily road closures on the following roads:- Hall Road, Scarisbrick Dam Wood Lane, Scarisbrick Heatons Bridge Road, Scarisbrick Barrison Green, Scarisbrick Pippin Street, Burscough can be found by clicking here. The simultaneous closures will be active from Wednesday 4th January 2023, until Wednesday 18th January 2023 (09:30 to 15:00 each day on all of them) to enable surface dressing patching works to be carried out by Lancashire County Council. Access for school bus services will be accommodated. If you have any comments or observations regarding the closure please contact the LCC contact indicated in the attached closure details or email lhsstreetworks@lancashire.gov.uk by Friday 16th December 2022. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Community Infrastructure Levy 2018-19

The Community Infrastructure Levy is a levy paid by developers to improve the infrastructure within the area of their developments.

Parish Councils receive a percentage of the levy to use within the Parish. Between 2015 and 2019 the Council received £5900.83 to improve the local infrastructure.

During 2019-2020 the Council allocated the levy to improve access to local transport support and to repairs at the Village Hall

Notice of Public Rights to inspect accounts

Any person who wishes to inspect the accounts may do so upon application to the Parish Clerk.

The statutory period that the accounts may be inspected will run from Monday 17th June 2019 until Friday 26th July 2019.

You are advised to read the Public Rights Notice 2019 before making any application

Traffic Survey B5242

The Parish Council are asking residents and users of the B5242 for their views.

A questionnaire has been delivered to residents along the road and a shortened version has been published in Scarisbrick Village Matters.
