Lancashire County Council is working closely with bus operators to prepare for a major change in the way buses are funded and organised following the government’s launch of The National Bus Strategy, Bus Back Better in March 2021.
The strategy sets out an ambitious vision to improve bus services in England, outside London, through greater local leadership, to reverse the recent shift in journeys away from public transport and encourage passengers back to using the bus.
The focus is on councils and bus operators working more closely together, and alongside local communities, to create a network that people want.
The first step is for councils and bus operators to create a Bus Service Improvement Plan, which will act as a vision for how bus services should improve in Lancashire over the next few years.
Lancashire County Council wants to ensure that the bus service improvement plan reflects your priorities and is asking you to complete a short survey. Unfortunately the timescale is quite short and the survey will only be available until 30th September 2021. The survey can be found by clicking here.
